Nepal Accident: Bus Plunges into Tamakoshi River.webp


Kathmandu, February 10 At least five people were killed and three others were injured after a passenger bus fell into the Tamakoshi River in central Nepal, local media reported on Tuesday.

The incident occurred around 11 am when the bus, en route from Kathmandu to Okhaldhunga, fell into the river near Lilauti in the Ramechhap municipality in the Bagmati province.

Police Inspector Rajan Prasad Timilsina of the District Police Office, Ramechhap, confirmed that five bodies, including that of the bus owner, have been recovered from the site, according to The Kathmandu Post.

Residents, security personnel, and rescue teams at the accident site were assisting in evacuating the injured.

Three people have been rescued and have been taken for treatment.

The rescue operation for others trapped in the bus is ongoing. The investigation into the incident is underway.
