
Mumbai, February 15 The West Indies qualified for the Super 8s of the T20 World Cup, defeating Nepal by nine wickets on Sunday, thanks to captain Shai Hope's unbeaten half-century.
Hope scored 61 not out from 44 balls, with five fours and three sixes, while Shimron Hetmyer contributed 46 not out, helping their team chase down a modest target of 134 with 28 balls remaining.
With three wins in as many matches, the West Indies are at the top of Group C and have qualified for the Super 8s.
Earlier, Dipendra Singh Airee scored a fine half-century, but Nepal could only manage 133 for 8.
Airee scored 58 off 47 balls, and Sompal Kami remained not out on 26, while the remaining Nepal batsmen were dismissed cheaply after being asked to bat first.
Veteran pacer Jason Holder (4/27) led a strong bowling performance for the West Indies, with four others also taking a wicket apiece.
