Mumbai, Feb 3 (PTI) – Netflix has officially announced the third season of its International Emmy-winning series Delhi Crime, with Shefali Shah reprising her role as DIG Vartika Chaturvedi, this time tackling a harrowing nationwide human trafficking case.
Directed by Tanuj Chandra, the upcoming season will also see the return of Rasika Dugal as Neeti Singh and Rajesh Tailang as Bhupendra Singh. Adding to the high-stakes narrative, acclaimed actors Huma Qureshi and Sayani Gupta join the cast, with Qureshi portraying the season's antagonist, a ruthless trafficker named Meena.
A Disturbing True Story Unfolds
As with its previous seasons, Delhi Crime Season 3 is based on a true incident. Speaking at Netflix’s 2025 slate announcement event, Shefali Shah expressed her emotional turmoil over the story, stating, "This season is also based on a true story and a very disturbing case. When I first read about it, I was scared. Even while shooting, it still terrifies me."The plot unravels when the search for an injured baby’s missing mother exposes a massive human trafficking network. DIG Vartika Chaturvedi, alongside her trusted team—including Neeti and Bhupendra—must navigate a high-stakes investigation that extends beyond India’s borders. As the case unfolds, it becomes one of the most defining moments of her career.
Powerhouse Cast and Writing Team
The screenplay for Delhi Crime Season 3 has been crafted by an ensemble of writers, including Anu Singh Choudhary, Apoorva Bakshi, Michael Hogan, Mayank Tiwari, and Shubhra Swarup, with Richie Mehta and Chandra at the helm. The show continues to be produced by Golden Karavan and SK Global Entertainment.After winning the International Emmy for Best Drama Series in 2020, Delhi Crime has remained one of Netflix’s most critically acclaimed Indian originals. With a gripping new case and a formidable antagonist in Qureshi’s Meena, the third season promises to be its most intense yet.
