Mumbai, Feb 3 (PTI) – Netflix has officially announced Aap Jaisa Koi, a modern-day romantic drama featuring acclaimed actors R Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh. The film, directed by Vivek Soni, best known for Meenakshi Sundareshwar, was unveiled as part of Netflix’s 2025 content slate at a special event.
Backed by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment, the digital division of Dharma Productions, Aap Jaisa Koifollows the lives of two distinctive characters—Shrirenu Tripathi (Madhavan) and Madhu Bose (Shaikh)—in what promises to be a heartwarming and relatable love story.
Speaking about the project, Madhavan expressed his excitement, saying, "I have done two or three romantic films in Hindi, but I was searching for an age-appropriate love story. When I heard this script, I knew I wouldn’t find a better opportunity. Plus, working with the king of romance, Dharma, made it even more special."
Shaikh echoed similar sentiments, sharing, "I was in awe of the script from the moment I read it. Every scene felt deeply relatable and special. And, of course, being part of a Dharma film alongside Madhavan made it an instant yes for me."
The film is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra under the Dharmatic Entertainment banner. With a compelling narrative and a stellar cast, Aap Jaisa Koi is set to be a much-anticipated addition to Netflix’s growing slate of Indian content.
