
To ensure smooth and trouble-free travel during the Holi festival, the Jammu Railway Division of Northern Railways has announced the operation of special reserved trains from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Station to New Delhi and Varanasi in February–March 2026. An Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that special train No. 04081/04082 will operate between New Delhi and Katra with 16 trips from February 21 to March 8, 2026. Meanwhile, train No. 04603/04604 will run between Varanasi and Katra with four trips on February 22 and 26, and March 2 and 6, 2026. The trains will stop at major stations along the route, benefiting passengers from Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. This move is aimed at managing the expected festive rush, improving ticket availability, and ensuring safe and comfortable journeys for travelers. In addition, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has introduced a full-fare tourist train from Pratapnagar in Gujarat to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to promote pilgrimage tourism during the festive season. Passengers can book tickets through IRCTC's official platform, while train-related information is available via the Railway helpline number 139 and the National Train Enquiry System (NTES). These special train services reflect the Railway's commitment to enhancing passenger convenience during peak travel periods.
