New Infrastructure Boosts Connectivity in Northeast India.webp

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu today in Guwahati, Assam, which connects Guwahati with North Guwahati across the Brahmaputra River. The bridge, built at a cost of approximately ₹3,000 crore, is expected to significantly reduce travel time and improve connectivity for commuters.

The Prime Minister also virtually inaugurated the National Data Centre for the North East and the Indian Institute of Management, Guwahati. In addition, he launched 225 electric buses under the PM-eBus Sewa scheme for four cities: 100 buses for Guwahati, 50 each for Nagpur and Bhavnagar, and 25 buses for Chandigarh.
