Nine people injured as pickup truck overturns in Himachal Pradesh's Bilaspur district

Bilaspur (HP), Feb 3 (PTI) – Nine people sustained injuries after a pickup truck carrying pilgrims overturned upon hitting a hillock in Himachal Pradesh’s Bilaspur district, police reported on Monday.

The accident occurred on Sunday night near Seu village while the vehicle was en route to Kaithal in Haryana after the devotees paid obeisance at the revered Baba Balak Nath temple in Deotsidh. The truck was carrying 13 pilgrims from Kaithal who had traveled to visit both the Siddha Peeth temple in Deotsidh, Hamirpur, and Baba Balak Nath’s Taposthali in Shahtalai.

Authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported. The injured were immediately taken to the Community Health Center in Talai, where they received first aid.

Community Health Center In-charge Dr. Atul Sharma stated that all injured individuals had been treated and subsequently discharged.

The injured have been identified as Rajesh (43), Naresh (38), Suresh Kumar (40), Chandron Devi (55), Piyush (18), Ankush (18), Ankit (16), Maneka (40), and Seema (38).

Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the accident.
