Nissan Motor India Reports 44.76% Surge in Sales in February 2025, Boosted by Exports

New Delhi, March 3, 2025 – Nissan Motor India has announced a significant 44.76% year-on-year increase in its total sales for February 2025, reaching 8,567 units. This growth is largely attributed to a surge in exports, which saw a remarkable rise of 97% compared to the same month last year.

In February 2024, the company had sold 5,918 units, with domestic sales accounting for 2,755 units. This year, however, domestic sales have slightly decreased to 2,328 units. Despite this, the company's export performance has been outstanding, with 6,239 units shipped overseas, up from 3,163 units in February 2024.

Magnite’s Milestone in Exports

Nissan’s compact SUV, the Magnite, continues to be a key player in the company’s export strategy. Since its launch, the Magnite has reached a significant milestone, achieving 50,000 units in export sales. This accomplishment underscores the growing global trust in the vehicle's quality, innovation, and performance. Nissan has also emphasized the vehicle's future-ready compliance with the E20 fuel standard, a critical move towards adhering to evolving environmental regulations.

E20-Compliance and Powertrain Updates

The Magnite is now fully E20-compatible across all its powertrain options. The naturally aspirated BR10 engine of the Magnite has recently been made fully compliant with the E20 fuel standard, following the earlier compliance of the more powerful 1-litre HR10 turbocharged petrol engine, which had become E20-compatible in August 2024. This development highlights Nissan's commitment to providing eco-friendly and sustainable mobility solutions.

Expansion into Global Markets

Nissan’s strategic push into international markets has also seen growth. In January 2025, the company began exporting left-hand drive (LHD) variants of the new Nissan Magnite, with nearly 2,900 units sent to Latin American markets. By February-end, exports to regions including the Middle East, North Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America exceeded 10,000 units, with over 5,100 units specifically bound for select Latin American countries.

Management Insights

Commenting on the results, Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, said, “This achievement highlights the growing trust in Nissan's ability to deliver quality, innovation, and performance. Coupled with the new Nissan Magnite's full E20 compliance, our strategy emphasizes our dedication towards future-ready mobility solutions, aligning with evolving environmental standards.”

With robust export performance and a growing international presence, Nissan Motor India is well-positioned to continue its momentum into 2025, as the company aims to expand its footprint in key global markets while adhering to the latest environmental standards.
