Mumbai, May 12—In a noteworthy political development, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari met with Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar on Monday at his office in the Yashwantrao Chavan Centre in south Mumbai.

Describing the interaction as a "goodwill visit", Pawar shared a brief update on the meeting through a post on X (formerly Twitter). He stated, "Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari paid a goodwill visit to Yashwantrao Chavan Centre in Mumbai today. Many important Centre and State issues were discussed in detail during this visit."

Several senior leaders and key figures from the NCP (SP) attended the meeting. Among those in attendance were NCP (SP) Maharashtra president Jayant Patil, Member of Parliament Supriya Sule, Vidyadhar Anaskar, Chairman of the Administrative Board of Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSC Bank), and party leader Yugendra Pawar.

Though officially framed as a courtesy call, the discussions reportedly included detailed deliberations on significant matters concerning both state and central governance, indicating the meeting's political importance.

The visit comes amid heightened political activity in Maharashtra, adding intrigue to the evolving dynamics between the state's regional leaders and the central government.
