Patna, February 10 BJP national president Nitin Nabin was warmly welcomed upon arrival at the Bihar legislative assembly, where he serves as a member.
Members of the BJP, which is now the largest party in the assembly, chanted slogans such as "Jai Shri Ram" and "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" to greet the Bankipur MLA.
Speaker Prem Kumar, himself a veteran BJP leader, stated that it was a matter of pride for the assembly that one of its members had achieved a prominent position in national politics.
Following this, the Speaker urged leaders from various parties to share their thoughts on Nabin.
The 45-year-old leader was recently elevated to the top position within the party.
Among those who spoke were Deputy Chief Minister and BJP legislator Samrat Choudhary, minister and JD(U) MLA Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, as well as Raju Tiwari of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Madhaw Anand of Rashtriya Lok Morcha, and Jyoti Devi of Hindustani Awam Morcha.
Incidentally, opposition members had staged a walkout earlier in protest against the high incidence of rape in the state.
