Noida, February 4 (PTI) – The Uttar Pradesh Police Special Task Force (STF) has apprehended a notorious member of the Pardi gang, identified as Suraj Pardi, who carried a combined bounty of ₹1 lakh on his arrest in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, officials reported on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, the Noida unit of the STF arrested Suraj Pardi near the Loni border in Ghaziabad, Additional Superintendent of Police (STF) Rajkumar Mishra confirmed.
Suraj has a history of criminal activities across multiple states, with several cases registered against him in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab. In 2024, he orchestrated a high-profile robbery at a jewellery store in Ghaziabad, where he broke open the shop’s shutter and looted valuable ornaments. Following this crime, a ₹50,000 reward was declared for his arrest.
Later that year, he was involved in another jewellery shop burglary in Phagwara, Punjab, prompting Punjab Police to place an additional ₹50,000 bounty on him.
Authorities have been cracking down on the Pardi gang, a group infamous for its involvement in thefts and burglaries. Several members of the gang have already been arrested in the past, police officials noted.
The latest arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing efforts to curb organized crime in the region.
