Hazaribag (Jharkhand), February 27 – A day after a communal clash broke out in Hazaribag district's Ichak area over the installation of religious flags and a loudspeaker during Maha Shivratri, the situation is gradually returning to normal, officials confirmed on Thursday.
Shops and markets have reopened, and daily activities have resumed in the area, according to local authorities. The police have taken swift action, arresting three individuals linked to Wednesday’s violence, said Santosh Kumar, officer-in-charge of Ichak police station.
Sub-Divisional Officer (Hazaribag Sadar) R K Gupta reassured that the situation remains peaceful, and a peace committee meeting has been scheduled later in the day to address tensions and ensure communal harmony.
To prevent further disturbances, adequate security arrangements have been implemented in the Ichak police station limits.
The clash, which left several injured, erupted on Wednesday when members of two communities disagreed over the placement of flags and loudspeakers during Maha Shivratri celebrations. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely to maintain law and order in the region.
