Odisha BJP Krushak Morcha to Launch Statewide Rallies in Support of CM Mohan Majhi’s Pro-Farmer Policies

Bhubaneswar, May 12—To express gratitude for Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi's efforts to double farmers’ incomes, the BJP’s Krushak Morcha will launch a series of mega rallies across Odisha starting Tuesday.

Announcing the initiative, Krushak Morcha President Maheshwar Sahu said the rallies will acknowledge Majhi’s commitment to the farming community since assuming office in June last year.

Statewide Rally Schedule Announced​

The rallies will be held in multiple districts throughout May:

• May 13 – Chandbali, Bhadrak
• May 15 – Karanjia, Mayurbhanj
• May 17 – Jagatsinghpur
• May 18 – Angul
• May 20 – Subarnapur
• May 22 – Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi
• May 26 – Rayagada
• May 28 – Bhanjanagar, Ganjam
• May 30 – Sundargarh
• May 31 – Dhenkanal

Chief Minister Majhi and Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Minister Krishna Chandra Patra and several central and state ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior BJP leaders are expected to attend the events.

Doubling Paddy MSP and Record Procurement​

The Morcha praised the state government’s decision to raise the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy to Rs 3,100 per quintal, which includes an additional Rs 800 over the central government’s fixed rate of Rs 2,300.

Sahu highlighted the successful procurement of 74 lakh metric tons of paddy from 17 lakh farmers during the recent Kharif season, describing it as a "groundbreaking step" that has significantly boosted farmer morale and financial security.

“These rallies will not only celebrate this achievement but also strengthen the government’s outreach to the agrarian community,” he added.
