Chief Minister Majhi joins rally to salute the Indian Army's valour in striking terror hubs

Bhubaneswar, May 14 — In a spirited tribute to the Indian armed forces, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday flagged off the 'Tiranga Yatra' or 'Parakram Sobha Yatra' in Bhubaneswar, celebrating the military's courage during Operation Sindoor.

The event, organised to boost morale and express solidarity with the forces, marked the state’s support for India's response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 civilian lives. Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Majhi Leads from the Front

The motorbike rally began at Kalinga Stadium Gate-3 and proceeded through key city locations such as Jaydev Vihar, Acharya Vihar, Vani Vihar, Raj Mahal Square, and AG Chhak before concluding at Raj Bhavan. Chief Minister Majhi, donning a helmet, joined the rally briefly as a pillion rider on a bike driven by Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj.

Speaking at the event, Majhi said, "We feel proud of our Tiranga as it is the source of our inspiration. It holds equal significance during both war and peace. It is a symbol of our unity and sovereignty."

He added, "In the wake of the Indian armed forces’ success in Operation Sindoor, we salute the jawans and honour the Tiranga. No one can give us a nuclear threat. We will march with our commitments."

Massive Participation and Patriotic Fervour

The rally saw participation from Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel and state government officials from various departments. Participants held the Tricolour high, raised chants of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "Indian armed forces zindabad", and sang patriotic songs.

Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, and BJP’s Odisha unit president Manmohan Samal, along with other cabinet ministers and senior officials, were among the notable leaders present.

Pujari expressed gratitude to the military, saying, "We are indebted to the Indian armed forces. The people are working peacefully in India because our jawans are keeping a constant vigil at the borders. They have taught a lesson to the terrorists and Pakistan."

Cross-Party Support for Armed Forces

Congress and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) had organised similar rallies to support the armed forces and Operation Sindoor. On Tuesday, the BJP conducted a 'Tiranga Yatra' at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, underscoring nationwide political unity in backing India’s military actions.

The Tiranga Yatra in Odisha symbolized national pride and collective resolve, echoing the country’s unwavering support for its armed forces in the face of terror.
