Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati Appeals to Faith Groups and Institutions to Honour Sacrifices
Bhubaneswar, May 10 – In a heartfelt appeal for unity and remembrance, Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati on Saturday called upon religious communities and educational institutions to honour the lives lost in the ongoing fight against terrorism. Speaking at an all-religion meeting held at Raj Bhavan, the Governor urged people to offer prayers for the brave jawans and civilians who died in recent terror attacks and to fly the national flag as a symbol of solidarity.The event saw participation from Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, leaders from various faiths, senior defence officials, and state government representatives.
He called on all religious organisations to come together in prayer for those who were killed or injured in terrorist attacks. Emphasising a message of peace and unity, he stated, “Terrorism has no religion. Violence has no scripture.”"Our brave soldiers are once again standing at the frontlines to protect our sovereignty. In this critical hour, we must stand firmly behind them," said Governor Kambhampati.
The Governor expressed deep sorrow over the recent attack that claimed 26 lives, describing it as "an assault on the idea of India—our unity, democracy, and peace." He revealed that the armed forces had launched 'Operation Sindoor', involving precision strikes targeting terrorist camps across the border.
"India Will Never Be Bowed by Terror": A Call for National Unity
Kambhampati also extended his condolences to the bereaved families and wished a swift recovery to those injured.Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi echoed the Governor's sentiments, calling terrorism a war against humanity. Highlighting the unity shown in times of crisis, he said:"Let us send a message to the world that India will never be bowed by terror. Our strength lies in our unity and unwavering support for those who protect us,” he said.
The gathering concluded with a collective resolve to stand in solidarity against terrorism and honour the sacrifices made by the country’s defenders."History shows how all communities come together whenever the country is in need.
