One Dead as Trolley Carrying Machinery Falls into Gobind Sagar Lake in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh

Incident Occurs During Railway Construction Work​


A tragic accident in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, claimed the life of a driver when a trolley carrying heavy machinery overturned and plunged into Gobind Sagar Lake. The incident occurred while transporting Max Company's Pokelin machine, which was being used in the ongoing construction of the Bhanupalli-Beri railway project.


According to police, the driver of the trolley, identified as Devi Ram, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and sink into the lake. Devi Ram died on the spot. Meanwhile, the helper accompanying him managed to jump to safety just before the trolley fell into the water.


Family Alleges Negligence, Demands Compensation​


The family of the deceased driver has lodged a complaint at Swarghat police station, alleging that negligence by Max Company led to the accident. They have further accused the company of failing to contact or extend any support to the grieving family members.


Expressing their distress and demanding justice, the family members warned authorities that they will refuse to perform Devi Ram's last rites until appropriate compensation is provided by the company.


Police Investigation Underway​


Superintendent of Police (SP) Bilaspur, Sandeep Dhawal, confirmed that a case has been registered regarding the incident. He stated that the investigation is currently underway, and the police are thoroughly examining all circumstances related to the tragic accident.
