New Delhi, May 10 – Flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) continued to face disruption on Saturday as at least 60 domestic flights were cancelled due to escalating security concerns stemming from the ongoing military conflict between India and Pakistan.
According to an airport source, the cancellations included 30 arrivals and 30 departures recorded between 5:00 am and 2:30 pm. The developments come a day after 138 flights were cancelled at the same airport on Friday.
32 Airports Temporarily Closed
As part of heightened security protocols, at least 32 airports in northern and western India, including major ones in Srinagar and Amritsar, have been temporarily shut for civilian air traffic. These closures will remain in effect till May 15, reflecting the severity of the situation.DIAL Urges Passenger Cooperation
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), which operates IGIA, stated that airport operations remain normal but warned of possible schedule disruptions due to evolving airspace restrictions and stricter security measures issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).Passengers have been advised to arrive early to allow time for extended security checks and to cooperate with airline and security personnel to ensure smooth facilitation.“Due to evolving airspace conditions and enhanced security measures as directed by BCAS, some flight schedules may be impacted and security processing times may take longer,” DIAL said.

The ongoing spate of flight disruptions at IGIA follows multiple days of cancellations, as the airport grapples with operational challenges caused by regional tensions.
