Palghar, February 28 – The Palghar police department has emerged as the top-performing unit in Maharashtra under the state’s 100-day governance improvement campaign, securing the first rank, an official confirmed on Friday.

According to a statement from the police, a mid-term review of the campaign—initiated on January 7—was conducted after 50 days, where Palghar led the rankings. The initiative is set to conclude on April 16.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recognized the department’s outstanding performance by presenting an appreciation letter to Superintendent of Police (SP) Balasaheb Patil on Thursday. He praised the force for its exemplary leadership and operational efficiency.

The assessment was conducted based on a seven-point framework, which included enhancements such as a revamped website interface, the Cyber-Safe Palghar initiative, a cleanliness drive, a streamlined complaint resolution mechanism, the implementation of an e-office system, and AI integration.

The chief minister highlighted that the campaign’s momentum would drive long-term improvements in public service and law enforcement efficiency across the state.
