Palghar Road Rage Incident: Five Family Members Arrested for Killing 25-Year-Old Man

Palghar, March 4 – Five members of a family were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly beating a 25-year-old man to death following a heated road rage incident in Nalla Sopara, Palghar district, Maharashtra.

The tragic incident occurred late Monday night when the victim, identified as Saurabh Mishra, was riding his motorcycle along with a friend. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Pornima Chowgule-Shringi, Mishra's motorcycle accidentally touched the main accused, identified as Kaushik Chavan, leading to a heated argument.

The dispute escalated quickly when Chavan's family members intervened, attacking Mishra and his friend brutally with iron rods and other sharp weapons. Severely injured, Mishra was rushed to multiple hospitals for emergency medical care. Despite efforts to save his life, Mishra succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Authorities have arrested five accused members of the Chavan family under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). Police investigations into the case are ongoing, with further details awaited.

This incident highlights the rising cases of violent road rage incidents in the region, emphasizing the urgent need for increased public awareness and preventive measures.
