Palghar Temple Theft: Valuables Worth Rs 2.35 Lakh Stolen from Samudri Mata Mandir

Palghar, Maharashtra | March 2, 2025: Unidentified individuals broke into the Samudri Mata Mandir at Pimpal Nala in Chinchani, Palghar district, and fled with valuables worth approximately Rs 2.35 lakh, police confirmed on Sunday.

The incident took place late Thursday night when unknown culprits forcefully entered the temple premises and stole an idol, ornaments, and cash collected in the donation boxes, according to an official from Vangaon police station.

Police have registered a case under Sections 305(a) (theft in a dwelling house, place of worship, or means of transportation) and 331(4) (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking after sunset and before sunrise) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

An active investigation into the theft is currently underway, and efforts to identify and apprehend the suspects are ongoing.
