
Jaipur, February 14 A police constable was killed in the Pali district of Rajasthan when a speeding truck crashed into a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) van late Saturday night, police said.
The accident occurred near a roadside eatery in the Transport Nagar police station area, where the FSL team had stopped for dinner while returning from a crime scene investigation, they said.
Transport Nagar SHO Hanuvant Singh Sisodia said that constable Durgadan Charan, who was stationed at the police lines and a resident of Sarwadi in Balotra, died instantly.
The FSL team had gone to collect samples from the site of an encounter between the Anti-Narcotics Force and suspected criminals in the Khinwara police station area, he said.
The van, which was parked outside the eatery, was hit by a speeding truck. Charan sustained serious injuries and was taken to Bangar Hospital in Pali, where doctors pronounced him dead, the police said.
