February 14, New Delhi — Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar praised Arun Abraham and Sherin John today for their selfless decision to donate the organs of their 10-month-old daughter, Aalin Sherin Abraham, after she died in an accident. He expressed heartfelt condolences to the grieving family and prayed for the child's soul to find peace.
The Governor posted on X and wrote, "Deeply moved by the noble decision of Arun Abraham and Sherin John, who chose to donate the organs of their little angel, Aalin Sherin Abraham, after she tragically lost her life in an accident. May Aalin's soul rest in peace. Heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family."
Five people have received new life through Aalin's organ donation. Her liver, two kidneys, heart valves, and corneas were transplanted, including to two critically ill children. One child received the liver, another received the kidneys, while the heart valves and corneas were transplanted into other patients in need.
Elin Sherin Abraham, a resident of Mallapally in Pathanamthitta district, was seriously injured in a road accident on February 5. After initial treatment, she was taken to Kochi, where doctors declared her brain dead on February 13, 2026. Despite their grief, her parents chose to donate her organs, making Elin the youngest organ donor in Kerala.
