February 13, New Delhi – The first phase of the Parliament's Budget session concluded today, with both houses – the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha – adjourning to reconvene on March 9.
The Lok Sabha, or the lower house, observed a moment of silence in memory of former MP Bhagwan Dass Rathor, who passed away on January 21.
During the question hour, Union Health Minister J P Nadda attempted to respond to a query, stating that any medicine found unfit for human consumption is promptly recalled from the market. However, he could not complete his reply due to opposition uproar, which led to the adjournment of the house.
The Rajya Sabha also conducted zero hour and question hour proceedings. During question hour, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan answered a question regarding the progress of the Aatmanirbharta mission in pulses.
The second phase of the session is scheduled to take place from March 9 to April 2 this year.
