PCB Plans PSL Resumption Ahead of Bangladesh T20 Series.webp

Karachi, May 12 – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to resume the suspended Pakistan Super League (PSL), aiming to complete the tournament before the arrival of the Bangladesh team for a T20 series later this month. The resumption may go ahead even in the absence of foreign players.

According to a reliable source within the PCB, the league is expected to restart by May 15 or 16. “We have eight games, including the final, remaining in the PSL, and the plan is to resume by May 15-16 with or without foreign players and wrap up the event,” the official stated.

The PSL was previously suspended amid heightened regional tensions. However, following the recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the situation is reportedly returning to normal, providing an opportunity to finish the tournament.

The PCB source also mentioned that while some overseas players remain in Dubai, others have already returned home. Franchises have been instructed to request the return of foreign players, but their participation remains uncertain and subject to the decisions of individual players and their respective boards.

Meanwhile, the PCB is coordinating with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to ensure that the upcoming T20 series proceeds as scheduled. Bangladesh is slated to play matches in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Lahore.

The PCB has planned to host the remaining PSL matches in Rawalpindi and Lahore. With preparations underway, the board remains optimistic about concluding the league successfully before shifting focus to the international T20 series.
