Thane, February 28 – Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday credited the unwavering support of the people as the driving force behind the numerous decisions he took during his tenure as the Chief Minister. Speaking at an event held to commemorate the birth anniversary of social reformer Saint Ravidas, Shinde emphasized that public affection acted as a source of strength for him.
"Even I do not know how many decisions I made as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The love of my beloved sisters, brothers, and fathers worked as a tonic for me," Shinde stated. He highlighted that while political positions are temporary, the recognition and trust of the people are long-lasting.
During his address, Shinde also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts in poverty alleviation and women's empowerment. Additionally, he underscored the teachings of Saint Ravidas, emphasizing his message of equality and humanity.
The event saw participation from various leaders and dignitaries who paid tribute to the revered saint and his contributions to social reform.
