Riyadh, February 11 Indian golfers Diksha Dagar and Avani Prashanth had a promising start, scoring 69 in the first round of the PIF Saudi Ladies International here.

They were tied for 21st place, with a score of 69, and were five shots behind South Korea's Hye-Jin Choi (64), as some players were still in progress. Japan's Chizzy Iwai (65) was in second place.

Three other Indian golfers are participating in the 120-player field at the tournament, which carries a prize purse of USD 5 million.

Aditi Ashok scored a birdie on her final hole (the ninth) to finish with a score of 71, while Pranavi Urs scored 73 and Hitaashee Bakshi was even par.

Diksha, who is currently leading the LET Order of Merit in 2025, scored birdies on the third, 12th, and 18th holes, resulting in a score of 69.

Avani scored a birdie on the opening hole, and although she gave back that shot on the fourth, she regained her momentum with birdies on the fifth and eighth holes. She finished with a score of 69.

On the back nine, birdies on the 12th and 15th holes brought her close to the top 10, but a bogey on the 18th hole pulled her back, and she finished with a score of 69.
