Operation Sindoor Hits 100% Targets, Asserts Sambit Patra
New Delhi, May 12 – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday declared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fulfilled his promise of delivering an unimaginable blow to the terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam attack and annihilating their sanctuaries.Addressing the media, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra emphasized that the Prime Minister had vowed to pursue terrorists into their homes and dismantle their hideouts. “PM Modi’s decision and the indomitable courage of our armed forces have razed these terror sites to the ground. It was a promise fulfilled,” he stated.
Patra said Operation Sindoor, which was launched on May 7, has achieved 100 percent of its objectives. He described the military and non-military action under the operation as unprecedented, sending a “decisive message” in India’s battle against terrorism.
Global Support, Pakistan Isolated
Patra further claimed that even Islamic nations like Saudi Arabia and the UAE have backed India, leaving Pakistan globally isolated. “India has demonstrated that no part of Pakistan is beyond our reach,” he said.He also responded to questions regarding the online abuse faced by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who, along with his family, was targeted by trolls after the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan.
Patra stated, “Our party respects everyone associated with Operation Sindoor, whether they are from the armed forces or the bureaucracy.” He added that social media is a tool, not a policymaker, implying that national decisions must not be swayed by online sentiments.
Misri was forced to make his X (formerly Twitter) account private following the attacks.
Operation Sindoor’s Tactical Success
Highlighting the operation’s impact, Patra said India has neutralized over 100 terrorists across nine terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. In retaliatory action against Pakistan’s response, India destroyed 11 air bases, resulting in the death of more than 50 Pakistani soldiers, he claimed.“This is the first time a country has destroyed air bases of a nuclear-powered nation,” Patra noted, underlining the operation’s significance.
Ceasefire Agreement With a Caveat
While India and Pakistan have agreed to cease military actions, Patra warned that India will not hesitate to break the understanding if another terror strike occurs.“Under Operation Sindoor, Pakistan has lost nine terror sites, 11 air bases, over 100 terrorists, 50 soldiers, and its honour,” Patra asserted, hailing the national unity and military resolve behind the campaign.
The BJP’s strong endorsement of the operation reinforces the government's message of a zero-tolerance stance on terrorism and marks a major geopolitical statement in the subcontinent.
