PM Modi hails Indian-American musician Chandrika Tandon on winning Grammy

New Delhi, Feb 3 (PTI) – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended his congratulations to Indian-American vocalist Chandrika Tandon for winning the Grammy Award in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category for her album Triveni.



The 67th Grammy Awards, organized by the Recording Academy, took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, recognizing the best in the music industry.


Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi expressed his admiration for Tandon’s achievements, highlighting her contributions as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and musician.


"Congratulations to @chandrikatandon on winning the Grammy for the album Triveni. We take great pride in her accomplishments. It is commendable how she has remained passionate about Indian culture and has been working to popularize it. She is an inspiration for several people," the Prime Minister wrote.


He also recalled his meeting with Tandon in New York in 2023 and acknowledged her dedication to promoting Indian culture worldwide.


Chandrika Tandon, who is also a renowned business leader and the elder sister of former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi, shared the Grammy win with her collaborators—South African flautist Wouter Kellerman and Japanese cellist Eru Matsumoto.


Her victory at the prestigious music awards underscores her deep connection to Indian heritage and her efforts to bring its musical traditions to a global audience.
