
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits Assam; Lands at Emergency Landing Facility
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Assam today for a one-day visit. He will inaugurate and launch several development projects worth approximately Rs 5,450 crore.
In the morning, he reached the Chabua Air Force Station in Dibrugarh and inaugurated the North-East's first emergency landing facility for fighter aircraft on the Dibrugarh-Moran National Highway.
The Prime Minister also witnessed an aerial display featuring fighter aircraft, transport aircraft, and helicopters, including the Indian Air Force's Sukhoi Su-30MKI, Rafale, AN-31, Tajesh, and Advance Light Helicopters.
Later in the day, he will inaugurate the Kumar Bhaskar Barman Bridge, which costs nearly Rs 3,000 crore and connects Guwahati and North Guwahati. He will also formally open the North-East Regional National Data Centre in Amingaon and the temporary campus of the Indian Institute of Management, Guwahati.
The Prime Minister will also launch 100 electric buses and address a party meeting in Khanapara, Guwahati.
