PM Modi to visit Maha Kumbh Mela Wednesday; will take holy dip at Sangam at around 11 am

New Delhi, Feb 4 (PTI) – Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj on Wednesday, February 5. As per an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), he will take a holy dip at the Sangam around 11 a.m. and offer prayers to Maa Ganga.

Maha Kumbh 2025, which began on Paush Purnima (January 13), is the world’s largest spiritual and cultural congregation, drawing millions of devotees from across the globe. The grand religious event will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26.

The PMO emphasized that Prime Minister Modi has been committed to preserving and promoting India’s spiritual and cultural heritage. His government has actively worked to enhance infrastructure and facilities at major pilgrimage sites.

This visit follows his earlier trip to Prayagraj on December 13, 2024, when he inaugurated 167 development projects worth ₹5,500 crore. These initiatives aim to improve connectivity, public amenities, and services, further elevating the experience for pilgrims and visitors attending the Maha Kumbh Mela.

The Prime Minister’s presence at the Maha Kumbh is expected to add to the spiritual fervor of the festival, which holds immense religious significance in Hindu tradition.
