Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Emergency Landing Facility on the Moran Bypass today, which was developed along a national highway in the Dibrugarh district of Assam. The Prime Minister, who is on a day-long visit to Assam, arrived at the Emergency Landing Facility this morning. The Prime Minister also witnessed a display of fighter jets and helicopters, featuring Indian Air Force aircraft such as the Sukhoi Su-30MKI, Rafale, AN-31, Tajesh, and Advanced Light Helicopters.

An Akashvani correspondent reports that the Emergency Landing Facility is the first of its kind in Northeast India, designed and constructed in coordination with the Indian Air Force to support the landing and take-off of military and civilian aircraft during emergencies. The Prime Minister departed from Dibrugarh to Guwahati via the Emergency Landing Facility.

In Guwahati, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and flag off various projects worth over Rs 5,450 crore. These include the Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu, a bridge connecting Guwahati and North Guwahati across the Brahmaputra River, which has a cost of Rs 3,000 crore. After the bridge inauguration, the Prime Minister will proceed to Lachit Ghat, a nearby area, to virtually inaugurate the temporary campus of IIM Guwahati and the National Data Centre for the North Eastern Region at Amingaon in the Kamrup district.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will flag off 225 electric buses under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme for four cities in India: 100 buses for Guwahati, 50 each for Nagpur and Bhavnagar, and 25 buses for Chandigarh. Later today, the Prime Minister will address a gathering of BJP workers in Guwahati.
