Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday emphasized the importance of swiftly implementing the Union Budget 2025 on the ground, urging stakeholders to provide actionable suggestions for making ongoing schemes more effective.

Addressing stakeholders virtually at the post-budget webinar themed "Agriculture and Rural Prosperity", Modi underscored that the government's third-term budget reflects continuity in policy and aligns closely with the vision of a "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India).

Modi highlighted that inputs and suggestions from various stakeholders had significantly shaped this year's budget. "Now, this budget needs to be implemented more effectively on the ground," the Prime Minister stated clearly.

Agriculture: The First Engine of Growth

Describing agriculture as India's primary engine of economic growth, Modi reiterated the government’s commitment to achieving sustained agricultural progress and fostering rural prosperity. He identified the urgent need to boost domestic production of pulses, which would help reduce India's dependence on imports.

Additionally, Modi called upon the private sector to prioritize research and development of high-yielding crop seeds, a move essential for enhancing agricultural productivity.

Action-Oriented Discussion Encouraged

The Prime Minister advised stakeholders attending the webinar to avoid discussions on creating a new budget. "The budget has already been formed, and our entire focus should now be on action," Modi emphasized.

He further requested participants to pinpoint existing obstacles and shortcomings in implementing budget proposals, stating, "Our goal must be to ensure the speedy realization of the budget on the ground."

Modi’s remarks come as a clear signal of the government's resolve to bridge gaps between policy formulation and practical execution, aiming to achieve measurable results in agriculture and rural development swiftly.
