
Hyderabad, February 16 A case has been registered here following an alleged assault on AIMIM party workers from Maharashtra, police said on Monday.
The incident took place in the Lal Darwaza area on Sunday night when some individuals stopped the vehicle in which the party workers were travelling.
The group allegedly threatened and abused the AIMIM workers, and subsequently beat up four of them after removing the party flag from the vehicle, according to the complaint filed by AIMIM members.
AIMIM Charminar MLA Mir Zulfeqar Ali said that four to five individuals assaulted the party workers while they were on their way to dinner. He urged the police to arrest those responsible for the incident and to take stringent action against them.
A case has been registered at the Moghalpura police station, a police official said, adding that further investigation is underway.
