Police Investigate Death of Couple in Odisha Home.webp


Jajpur, February 10 A young couple was found dead in their house in Jajpur district, Odisha, police said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred in the Gadamadhupur-Kukudakhalei village, within the Jenapur police station area, they said.

The deceased were identified as George Malik (27) and his wife, Jharana Malik (24), they added.

The couple's family members had gone to attend a religious event on Monday night. When they returned home, they heard the cries of the couple's two-year-old son, police said.

They broke into the room, which was locked from the inside, and found the bodies of George and his wife hanging from the ceiling.

Police said the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination, and an investigation has begun.

"Family conflict is suspected to have led to this tragic incident. We are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death," said Nirupama Jena, the inspector-in-charge of the Jenapur police station.
