
Medininagar, February 13 Himachal Pradesh Police arrested two individuals from the Palamu district of Jharkhand on Friday in connection with the alleged murder of a woman, officials said.
According to police, the two individuals allegedly killed the woman and disposed of her body in a septic tank in Himachal Pradesh.
"A police team from Himachal Pradesh arrested two individuals accused in a murder that took place at Kosariya village within the Sadar police station limits in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh on January 16," said Leslieganj SDPO Manoj Kumar Jha.
"After the murder, the two individuals disposed of the woman's body in a septic tank," he said.
The arrested, identified as Bansi Chauhan and Guddu Chauhan, both aged between 30 and 35 years, are from the Naudiha Bahera village within the Pipratand police station limits of Jharkhand and are the brothers of the deceased, another official said.
The case came to light after the father of the deceased, Gudiya Devi, contacted the Himachal Pradesh Police and filed a complaint regarding her disappearance. During the investigation, it was found that her husband, Govind Chauhan, and his brother, Guddu Chauhan, were involved in her killing, the SDPO said.
"The victim's husband is the main accused and is still at large. The woman lived in Himachal Pradesh with her husband and brother-in-law to earn a living. When her husband and brother-in-law returned to Palamu without her, the deceased's father became suspicious and lodged a police complaint," he added.
