Lucknow, April 1 – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that politics is not his life's primary pursuit, asserting that he remains a yogi (monk) at heart, even as speculation grows around his national political future.

Amid growing public discourse positioning him as a potential future Prime Minister, Adityanath downplayed such narratives in a recent interview, stating, "Politics is not a full-time job for me. Ultimately, I am a yogi at heart." Addressing rumours of internal discord, the Chief Minister dismissed suggestions of differences with the BJP’s central leadership. "Can I remain in the chair by having differences with the party's central leaders?" he asked rhetorically, underlining that his role exists solely due to the party’s decision.“I am the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, and the party has placed me here to serve the people of the state,” he reaffirmed.
Support from RSS and Perspective on Religion in Politics
Adityanath also spoke about the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), stating that the Hindutva organisation supports anyone committed to the cause of Bharat. “They will inspire those not yet committed to turn toward the right path,” he added.On the broader issue of the intersection between religion and politics, he warned against pursuing either with self-interest. “When religion is pursued for self-interest, it creates challenges. But when dedicated to a higher purpose, it opens avenues for progress,” he said.

Asked about how he would like to be remembered, Adityanath offered a characteristically modest response: "There is no need for others to remember me as I am very much present."
