Light Rainfall, Thunderstorm Hit Several Parts of the City on Saturday Morning
Mumbai, May 17 – Mumbai experienced a refreshing spell of pre-monsoon showers on Saturday morning, accompanied by thunder and lightning, offering respite to residents grappling with rising heat and humidity over the past few days.According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), light to moderate rainfall was recorded across various areas of the city, including Dadar, Mahim, Byculla, Bombay Central, Powai, and Bandra, among others.
A BMC official confirmed that the showers initially began in parts of the island city and later extended to several suburbs. The rain, though brief, brought a welcome change in weather conditions.
IMD Predicts More Rainfall Over the Weekend
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light rain or thundershowers for the rest of the day and predicted similar weather for Sunday as well. Despite the rainfall, traffic flow remained largely unaffected across Mumbai.
