February 14, New Delhi – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney paid tribute to the victims of one of Canada’s deadliest mass shootings by laying flowers at a makeshift memorial in the remote town of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia.
This tragedy is among the worst in Canadian history. The deadliest mass shooting occurred in April 2020, when a 51-year-old man killed 22 people in Nova Scotia before being shot dead by police. At a vigil in Tumbler Ridge, Prime Minister Mark Carney comforted grieving families, telling them, "You are not alone."
