Kalaburagi (Karnataka), Feb 4 (PTI): A private school in Kalaburagi received a bomb threat via email on Tuesday, prompting swift action from the authorities. The school was immediately evacuated, and a thorough search operation was conducted, police confirmed.
Kalaburagi Police Commissioner Sharanappa S D stated that the institution alerted the police as soon as the threat was received. "Our teams, including an anti-sabotage unit and a bomb detection and disposal squad, were deployed to inspect and secure the premises," he said.
After an intensive search, officials confirmed that the threat was a hoax. "The email's subject mentioned an RDX bomb blast at the school, but the content was in Tamil. Upon translation, it was found to discuss Tamil Nadu politics," Sharanappa added.
A case has been registered, and authorities are investigating the origin of the email and its sender. The police assured that necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safety of students and staff in the city.
