February 16, Srinagar: The Indian Army's Rana Battalion organized a girls' snow volleyball match today in the Gurez valley, aiming to encourage sports participation in remote border areas.

Held in the snow-covered region of Gurez, the event saw enthusiastic participation from local girls despite the harsh winter conditions. The competition highlighted teamwork and determination as players competed on the snow-covered ground.

The battalion's commanding officer inaugurated the match and commended the participants for their confidence and sportsmanship. He emphasized the importance of promoting sports among young girls, noting that such activities contribute to physical fitness and help build leadership skills and self-confidence among youth in border areas.

The winning team received a trophy and a cash prize, while the runners-up were recognized for their performance.
