Protecting Sporting Assets: SAI's Approach to Stadium Events

Protecting Sporting Assets: SAI's Approach to Stadium Events.webp

February 13, New Delhi – The Sports Authority of India has established a clear and enforceable framework that prioritizes sporting activities, outlining how non-sporting events are permitted within national stadiums.

Concerts are allowed, but only under strict conditions that prioritize sporting activities.

At the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, sporting calendars, elite training programs, and recovery periods are treated as fixed.

Non-sporting events are only approved if it can be confirmed that they will not interfere with competitions or training. In the event of a conflict, commercial activities take precedence.

The playing field, including the MONDO athletics track, is considered a protected asset. The stadium is divided into zones for different weight categories, with strict barriers to prevent damage to sensitive surfaces.

Event organizers are fully responsible for protecting, restoring, and covering associated costs.
