PTC Industries Signs MoU with Odisha Government for Aerospace-Grade Titanium Sponge Facility

Bhubaneswar, Odisha, January 30, 2025 – PTC Industries Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Odisha to set up an aerospace-grade Titanium Sponge manufacturing facility in the state.

Key Highlights of the Agreement​

• Strategic Investment: The facility will bolster India's domestic production capabilities for Titanium Sponge, a critical material for aerospace and defense applications.
• Integrated Manufacturing: The project, led by PTC and its subsidiary Aerolloy Technologies, will establish a complete Titanium value chain, covering:
  • Titanium Sponge production
  • Titanium alloy ingots
  • Forged billets
  • Rolled bars, rods, sheets, plates, and precision castings.

Addressing India’s Titanium Supply Chain Gaps​

India ranks third in global Titanium ore reserves but relies heavily on imports for aerospace-grade Titanium Sponge. Only a few countries, such as the U.S., Russia, Kazakhstan, and Japan, produce this crucial material. The new facility aims to:

• Reduce import dependency for Titanium Sponge
• Strengthen India's aerospace and defense industry
• Support the "Make in India" and "Aatmanirbhar Bharat" initiatives.
