Chandigarh, February 9 A first-year law college student in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab allegedly shot and killed a fellow student on Monday and later shot himself with the same weapon, police said.

However, the reason behind Raj's killing of Kaur is yet to be ascertained, police said, adding that an investigation is underway.
Both were first-year students of the law college located in Usma village in Tarn Taran, the police said.
The class had not yet begun when Raj entered the classroom and shot Kaur in the head with a pistol. Then, he shot himself with the same weapon in the classroom, the police official said.
Kaur died instantly, while Raj was taken to the hospital in a critical condition, the police officer said.
