Drug Cartel Linked to Nav Bhullar Busted

According to Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police apprehended three individuals associated with Turkey-based drug smuggler Navpreet Singh, also known as Nav Bhullar. The arrested accused have been identified as Gurdeep Singh alias Saab, Pardeep Sharma, and Mani Sharma.

From their possession, the police recovered:
  • 1.01 kg of heroin
  • Hawala money worth Rs 1.06 crore, including Rs 84.02 lakh in cash and Rs 22 lakh in frozen bank accounts

Preliminary investigations revealed that Gurdeep Singh was running a local drug network in Amritsar on instructions from Nav Bhullar, who also facilitated a hideout and provided logistics support.

An FIR has been filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further probes are ongoing to unearth additional links in the international cartel.

Pharma Drug Syndicate Uncovered in Fazilka

In a separate operation, Fazilka Police arrested three more drug smugglers involved in a pharmaceutical drug syndicate. Authorities seized 60,000 tablets of 100 mg Tramadol, a controlled substance, along with the vehicle used for its transportation.

An FIR under the NDPS Act has been registered at the Jalalabad City police station, and investigators are tracing both backward and forward linkages in the case to fully dismantle the network.
