New Delhi, May 10 – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has issued a strong statement in support of the Indian armed forces and appealed for national unity in the face of escalating tensions with Pakistan, following the launch of Operation Sindoor.

In a video message shared on social media platform X, Chadha emphasized the need for collective resolve in combating terrorism. “We can change our friends but not our neighbours, and when the neighbour is like Pakistan, it is our duty to give a harsh punishment. India is not only fighting against Pakistan but also against barbarity and the terrorism mindset,” he said.

Operation Sindoor: A Retaliatory Strike

The Indian military initiated Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation was in direct response to the April 22 terror attack near Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives, including 25 tourists. Officials confirmed the attack had clear cross-border links.

Standing with the Armed Forces

Chadha lauded the Indian military’s swift and determined action. “The way Indian armed forces are fighting, it is certain that terrorism will be ended this time. We need to stand with the brave soldiers and their families,” he stated.

He also urged the public to set aside divisions and unite as one nation. “India is not only the descendants of Buddha and Gandhi but also Bhagat Singh and Chandrashekhar Azad. All we need to do is stay united and provide strength to our country,” he said.

Escalating Tensions and Civilian Evacuations

Following the strikes, Pakistani forces have reportedly carried out heavy shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) for three consecutive days. This has forced mass evacuations in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla, Kupwara, and Bandipora districts, with thousands of residents moved to safer locations.

Authorities remain on high alert as the security situation continues to unfold.

Unity Over Division

Reiterating his call for solidarity, Chadha concluded, “It doesn't matter which religion, caste or political party we belong to; the more important thing is that we all are Indians.”

As the nation faces heightened conflict, leaders across political lines are voicing support for the armed forces and calling for unity in defending the country against terrorism.
