Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma Approves 2% Hike in Dearness Allowance for State Employees and Pensioners

Jaipur, April 1 — Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has approved a 2% increase in the dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees, along with a matching hike in dearness relief for pensioners. The move mirrors a similar step taken by the central government last week.

According to an official release, the Chief Minister approved the proposal from the state's finance department on Tuesday. With this revision, the dearness allowance for employees and pensioners in Rajasthan rises to 55%, effective January 1, 2025.

Nearly 12.4 Lakh Beneficiaries to Gain

This decision will directly benefit approximately 8 lakh government employees and 4.40 lakh pensioners across the state. Additionally, employees of Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads will also receive the increased allowance.

Payment Schedule and Arrears

The revised DA will be disbursed starting with the April 2025 salary, which will be paid in May 2025. Arrears for the three-month period from January to March 2025 will be credited to employees’ General Provident Fund (GPF)accounts.

This increase in DA aims to offset the rising cost of living and inflation, offering relief to thousands of public sector workers and retirees in Rajasthan.
