Jaipur, May 10 — In response to escalating military tensions between India and Pakistan, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma convened an all-party meeting on Saturday to review and discuss the state's preparedness. The meeting, held at the Chief Minister's office, focused on the heightened threat along Rajasthan's western border, which shares an international boundary with Pakistan.

High Alert in Border Districts

A state of high alert continues in the border districts of Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bikaner, and Sri Ganganagar following increased aerial threats from Pakistan. Notably, a new wave of drone attacks was launched by Pakistan on Friday night, targeting 26 locations — including Jaisalmer and Barmer. According to officials, Indian defence systems successfully repelled these attacks.

Cross-Party Support and Unity

The all-party meeting was attended by Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully and representatives from various political parties. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel confirmed that the Chief Minister shared comprehensive details of the government's security and emergency response plans, while also inviting inputs from the opposition and other political stakeholders.

“The CM called an all-party meeting to discuss the situation. Details regarding our preparations were shared with the leaders of political parties and suggestions were sought. The leaders of all parties extended support,” said Patel.
Leader of Opposition Jully acknowledged the state's proactive measures and stressed the importance of unity in such critical times.

“The government has made elaborate arrangements in view of the situation, and the entire opposition is with the government,” he said, adding that the entire nation stands firmly with the armed forces.

Rising Regional Tensions

The meeting comes amid continued cross-border hostilities. Pakistani drone incursions and missile threats have significantly escalated tension along India’s western front. Despite the provocations, state and central agencies have been on high alert, implementing robust defensive protocols to ensure civilian safety and territorial integrity.
