Rajasthan govt working towards upliftment of backward classes, say CM Sharma

Jaipur, Feb 3 (PTI) – Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma reaffirmed the state government's commitment to the welfare and upliftment of backward classes during a function held at the Birla Auditorium on Monday, marking the 1113th birth anniversary of Devnarayan Ji.

Addressing the gathering, Sharma emphasized the various policy decisions undertaken by his government in its one-year tenure to economically empower cattle keepers and farmers. He highlighted the Gopal Credit Card Loan Scheme, under which interest-free short-term loans of up to ₹1 lakh are being provided to support dairy-related activities, including the purchase of equipment for milk and fodder distribution.

The Chief Minister also underlined efforts to enhance educational opportunities for the youth of backward communities. He stated that the government has implemented significant policies to improve access to education, healthcare, employment, and skill development for the Gurjar community. Additionally, steps have been taken to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the community.

Sharma lauded the Gurjar community’s historical contributions, noting their role in India's economic progress, dedication in various fields, and their valor in safeguarding the nation's social fabric.

Furthermore, he credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for bringing a transformative change in the country since 2014. He cited the government's focus on welfare schemes for the poor, infrastructure development, and the eradication of terrorism and Naxalism, along with India's growing global stature.

The event served as a platform to recognize and reinforce the contributions of the Gurjar community while reaffirming the state government's commitment to inclusive growth and development.
