Mumbai, Feb 3 (PTI) – Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao has unveiled his upcoming film Toaster, which will premiere on Netflix. The film is produced by his wife and actress Patralekhaa, marking the first project under their production house, Kampa Films.

Directed by Vivek Das Chaudhary, Toaster features an ensemble cast including Sanya Malhotra, Archana Puran Singh, Upendra Limaye, Farah Khan, Abhishek Banerjee, and Seema Pahwa. The film revolves around a miser obsessed with a toaster, entangling himself in a web of murder and mayhem.

Announcing the project at Netflix’s 2025 slate event, Rao shared insights into how the film came together. "We sent the script to everyone because we truly believed in it. Fortunately, our past collaborations made it easy for them to trust us. We knew working together again would be fun," he said.

Patralekhaa, who recently appeared in Netflix’s IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, revealed that she convinced Rao to take on the project over breakfast. "It was overwhelming to see a simple one-pager develop into a full-fledged film. We were lucky to have such an incredible cast," she added.

Sanya Malhotra, who has previously worked with Rao in HIT: The First Case and Ludo, expressed her excitement about the film. "We just wrapped up shooting, and as always, working with Raj was a great experience. It was a fun ride," she said.

Veteran actress Archana Puran Singh hinted that she will be the "surprise package" of the film. "At first, I couldn’t believe I was offered this role, but then I thought—who better than me? This is the best role of my career," she remarked.

Acclaimed actor Upendra Limaye also praised the experience, calling himself a "huge admirer of Rajkummar Rao’s work." He added, "We had a great time filming, and I believe the audience will enjoy it too."

With an intriguing premise, a power-packed cast, and the backing of Netflix, Toaster is set to be a thrilling watch when it premieres in 2025.
