Productivity Hits 119% as House Concludes 267th Session​

New Delhi, April 4, 2025 – The Rajya Sabha was adjourned sine die on Friday, marking the end of the Budget Session that commenced on January 31, 2025. Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, in his valedictory remarks, lauded the session’s exceptional productivity and historic milestones.

Historic All-Night Sitting​

Addressing the House, Dhankhar highlighted a landmark moment when the Rajya Sabha conducted an unprecedented sitting from 11:00 AM on April 3 to 4:02 AM on April 4, making it the longest session in the history of the Upper House.

“This would send a very great message to the people at large and enhance belief in this great institution,” he stated, reflecting on the symbolic importance of the marathon session.

Legislative Highlights​

During the 267th session, the Rajya Sabha passed several crucial legislations, most notably the Waqf Amendment Bill. Alongside legislative activity, members also engaged in discussions on various significant national issues.

Remarkable Session Productivity​

Chairman Dhankhar reported that the session achieved a productivity level of 119 percent, underscoring the commitment and active participation of the House throughout the session.
